Pictures of the places where stabbings happen, showing how tradgedy can happen in unassuming places this would require researching statistics and news stories

A series of pictures on businesses that have closed down, possibly with analysis on the types of business that failed. this could serve as a meditation on the economy or the state of capatilisim.

Pictures of the items people use in their daily rituals, in an enviorment that is sterile and clean, to show how strange the things we use every day really are

A series of photographs on places that unexplained murders happened, I cannot think of much merit to this idea beyond it being somewhat interesting, there would also be a lot of freedom with how I could photograph these places, as accuracy wouldn't be a focus as much as the focus would be on the "mystery" of these places. also there is a list of unsolved murders on wikipedia, which would make things a lot easier.

I could do a series of pictures on people's favourite places in the world, with them stood next to eachother. This would probably be very life affirming, but may come off a little trite, as portrait photography often does.

Does photography of the beatuty of nature reassure us or make us complacent?

In my opinion images of picturesque landscapes and animals thriving will only reassure people that there is noting to worry about, unfortunately images of disaisters (oil spills, fires, pollution) are far more effective at provocing a sense of dread which causes people to act.

Is a gallery the place for images to change minds?

An art gallery is often a place where people enter willingly, knowing what they will be in for, this means any shock factor such ideas as "the planet is dying" will not truly resonate as people will be expecting shocking and thought provoking ideas. Places like the news, TV and social media are the places to publish images to reach an audience that matters.

Photographs can communicate more powerfully than words?

In a lot of situations photographs can communicate feelings or moods better than words alone can, however often photographs can be twisted and re-framed by words to tell lies, or to back ideas in bad faith. It's important when dealing with real world situations and issues to accompany images with words to give context and meaning to the images, so they don't get mis-understood.

Is social media the answer for raising awareness for questions such as this?

Social media is currently the largest method of peer-to-peer communication we have access to and has completely changed communication world-wide. I reject the idea that using social media is even a question when it's such a ubiquitiously used platform, you could almost argue that becuase of it's size and reach it's the only way to adress any question in modern times.

Does doccumenting the process of climate and enviormental preservation make a difference?

The biggest use for documenting the act of climate preservation is to show how rewarding the act can be, in other words to show the nobility of the people acting in this way as something to emulate and join in with. the other reason to do it would be as a record to innovate and improve unpon methods used in the past.
